Thai Medical Records vs. US Medical Records - PART I PDF Print E-mail

I want to show you two medical records of my daughter's first visit to Thai and US pediatricians. The first record is from a pediatrician (Dr. Araya Chokrungvaranon) at the famous Bumrungrad Hospital. My daughter's first visit there lasted a mere 15 minutes. I didn't expect to see much on her record, and I was right. The first line translates to "Recently moved from US". She also prescribed Oral Polio Vaccine, which has not been used in the US since 2000, and a kid's multi-vitamin supplement.

Here is Bumrungrad's record.

After we moved back to the US in 2006, we had to find a new pediatrician because my daughter's former pediatrician in San Jose had retired about a year earlier. We brought her to see Dr.Christina Fa at Camino Medical Group in Santa Clara. This time her first visit with Dr. Fa lasted one full hour. And this is what came out of that first visit.

See the difference ?

How much did the Thai and US doctor charge you? How was it different?
